Default New Addition to /Report: Bug Report Form.

Hello.

With the current situations regarding recent exploits and confusion resulting from them in regards to the outcomes of these, I would like to make the following suggestion to the developers and ask for additional input from the community here.

This idea has been spawned from a slightly off-topic post and discussion made in another thread

Whether we think it's pointless, or not, the /report feature does serve a good function to alert those behind the scenes of improper "things" we may see, witness, or experience when playing the game. However, because of the severity of some bugs, glitches, and/or exploits that can occur and have occured, I believe it would be a helpful addition to the /report box to provide users with a "Report Bug/glitch/exploit" option.

I would also request that this option be more than just checking the box, but to allow it to provide an execution, similar to the F10 Wiki search execution, that would open your browser and direct you to an NCSoft/Anet Bug Report Form with clearly labelled fields for designated information.

(Please note: This should only be considered as rough draft. If there is a field you think should be of importance, please feel free to add a reply with that suggestion).

Top of page: Anets official logos and disclaimers for using this feature. the usual "Please do not abuse this" and other legal info. It is important afterall.

Character Name in which you experienced this possible glitch:

Date and Time of the experience:

Email in which you can be directly contacted:

________________(Browse)
________________(Browse)
________________(Browse)
<Note: This field could be changed to just provided direct URL's of user uploaded screenshots to photobucket, imageshack, or other photo viewing services>

[b]Please provide a detailed explination of your events leading up to, during, and after your discovery of this possible glitch. Do not spare any detail as all information you provide can be very helpful:[b]
<A lot of field boxes that ask for descriptions have character limits. I would suggest to Anet, if this form is ever established, that a character limit not be set, or if one is set, please allow a high limit for the possible complexity of any future exploits>

Have "SEND" and "Cancel" buttons clearly identified and seperated (Meaning don't make them small and don't have them side by side)

Once a "SEND" has been confirmed, players should be taken to a screen in which we should either be warned to not continue working with this possible bug, or wait for direct permission, or denial, from Support. It should also be made clear that Support will contact us within an "x" amount of time with any further instructions, new tickets, or request for additional information.

Support should avoid automated responses if it can be avoided. This is to allow more clear direction to the user as to whether or not they can proceed in the area without risk, conduct future tests without risk, or to avoid such area because it will be a risk.

As a result, Anet will have a full report from a user with information and screenshots for comparison to their logs. The user will have clear confirmation that their account is not at risk for penalty for the report, or for continuing if they are told they can do so (Depended on each circumstance and any conditions that may be applied).

While I understand this presents additional "work" to both parties, it's my hope and goal to help avoid confusion on what to do and what not to do, if it warrents such explination.

So this is more or less, in rough form, the idea. I'd ask that if anyone has any additions, or ideas to add to this, please do so. If not, then I will allow this thread to drift away in the breeze

I think it would be an excellent idea. It would provide players with an easy way to notify Anet of the problems we find in Game. I understand not all of them can be fixed as soon as they're found due to time constraints, programing issues, and whatnot, but it'd be good to clean up the game as we go along.

Hm... the old /bug command was removed... it is still recognized, but do not give any feedback output.

Whatever the reason to remove the command, I bet it's the same for not adding this.
